Yoga
Yoga has been around for thousands of years. In his Yoga Sutras, Patanjali defined Yoga as “citta vrtti nirodhah; the stilling of the restless fluctuations of the mind." (Yoga Sutras I.2).
Yoga differs from other forms of exercise because there is a conscious involvement of the mind in the movement and placement of the body, which are both connected by the breath. The word Yoga is derived from the ancient Sanskrit language, meaning union with the Divine Power.
Yoga is a holistic, healing discipline that offers a broad range of tools for supporting health, healing and personal transformation. Yoga's tools include postures, conscious breathing techniques, meditative practices, gestures, the use of vocal sounds, guided self-inquiry, and much more. These tools can be utilized in an infinite number of combinations to suit the unique needs of the individual throughout the ever-changing stages of his/her life.
